IMPACTING THE WORLD THROUGH CHRIST
COMPASSION · SERVICE · PERSEVERANCE
While tours and meeting with our principals often give parents the opportunity to have their questions addressed, we recognize it is helpful for the prospective student to also have an opportunity to learn about St. Hubert Catholic School. We welcome students to have their questions answered and at the same time share with them what a typical day at St. Hubert feels like by having them join us for a Shadow Day!
What steps are necessary to Shadow at St. Hubert Catholic School?
We ask that a parent or guardian contact our office to schedule a day for their child to visit/shadow at our school. Reservations for a shadow day are required and can be made by contacting the Noranette Swick at 847-885-7702, ext 203 or [email protected].
Who is eligible to participate in a Shadow Day?
The Shadow Program is open to any prospective students in grades 1-8 that are discerning a St. Hubert Catholic School education. The student may shadow for a half day or the whole school day. Prospective students currently in Kindergarten are encouraged to shadow for an hour or two, please contact Noranette Swick at 847-885-7702, ext 203 or [email protected] to make arrangements.
Who will I shadow and which grade will I shadow in?
If you have been referred by a friend that is in the same grade and would like your child to shadow that person, we will try to accommodate your request. We also place prospective students in a class of their current grade level. We have found this to be beneficial for students shadowing at St. Hubert Catholic School as they are given the opportunity to meet and interact with students that will be their classmates should they decide to enroll. We typically try to partner your student with a current student that has similar interests. The goal is to give your student the best representation of our school, as well as the opportunity to meet and interact with new students.
What is the dress code for the day?
St. Hubert Catholic School has a uniform for its students. We don’t expect Shadow Students to dress in uniform attire, however, we do ask that shadow students wear clothes that are neat, clean, without rips, holes, etc., and do not fall below the standard of our dress code (See page 16 of our Parent Student Handbook).
Are there any other materials that my child should bring for Shadow Day?
No materials are required; however, students are also welcome to bring a book, notebook, and a writing instrument to keep on hand throughout the day.
I have registered for a Shadow Day. Is there anything else I need to know?
We ask that you arrive at 7:30 AM on the day of your scheduled shadow visit. Report to the attendance office and a member of the St. Hubert Catholic School staff will be in the office to greet you and introduce you to the student you will be shadowing with. At this time, we will ask you to complete a contact form should we need to reach you throughout the day. Shadow students will be dismissed at the end of the school day unless an earlier time is requested. If your child is shadowing on a Tuesday, know that we have a school Mass at 8:30 AM. We encourage parents or guardians to attend Mass and experience our faith-filled school community.
If you have further questions about our Shadow Days, please do not hesitate to contact Noranette Swick at 847-885-7702, ext 203 or [email protected].
